Apsara lyer (29) is an Indian American second year (Year 2023), student at Harvard Law School. She has been elected as the 137th president of the Harvard Law Review President, becoming the first Indian-American woman to be named to the position in journal's 136-year history. Notably Harvard Law Review is one of the oldest student-run legal scholarship publication which was founded in 1887. lyer graduated from Yale in 2016 with BA in Economics and Math and Spanish. Notably, lyer's predecessors in the role include Barack Obama and late Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Apsara Iyer's interests and work revolve around archeology and repatriating stolen works of art. Her interest in archeology led her to pursue MPhil at Oxford University as a Clarendon Scholar. As a Law Review president, Iyer aims to include more editors in the process of reviewing and selecting articles and upholding the publication’s reputation for "high-quality" work. Iyer has worked in 2018, she joined the Manhattan District Attorney's Antiquities Trafficking Unit (ATU) investigating art crime, before coming to the Law School, and took a leave of absence after her first year studying law to return to the role. Iyer also helped authorities safely repatriate over 1,100 stolen art works to 15 different countries.One of the well-known instances Iyer labored on turned into that of billionaire Michael Steinhardt, who agreed to return $70 million in antiquities decided to be stolen in 2021.
Iyer joined the Harvard Law Review following a competitive process called “write-on,” where Harvard Law School students “rigorously fact-check a document and provide commentary on a recent State or Supreme Court Case. " Iyer has formerly been concerned withinside the Law School’s Harvard Human Rights Journal and theNational Security Journal and is also a member of the South Asian Law Students Association.
