She is the daughter of the late B.R. Tewari, the founder of the Indian pharmaceutical company USV Pvt. Ltd. She serves as a Director on the board of USV Pvt. Ltd and is also a Managing Trustee of the Durga Das Foundation, a philanthropic organization founded by her father.
