Parag Agrawal (An Indian-American executive) named CEO of Twitter by the founder and stepping down CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey. Parag is an IIT Bombay alumnus, studied Computer Science & Engineering. Parag later completed his PhD from Stanford University.

Parag joined Twitter in 2011 as a Distinguished Software Engineer and then promoted to Chief Technology Officer in 2017. As CTO parag was responsible for Twitter’s technical strategy and overseeing machine learning and AI across the consumer, revenue, and science teams. Parag finally replaced founder Jack Dorsey on 29th of November 2021 to become the new Chief Executive Officer of Twitter. Before Twitter Parag had also worked in Microsoft, Yahoo! and AT&T Labs.
In December 2019, Parag was in charge of Project Bluesky, "an independent team of open source architects, engineers and designers to develop an open and decentralized standard for social media that would help better control abusive and misleading information on its platform".
As a CEO of Twitter Parag is believed to get a salary package of $1 million along with Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) of value $12.5 which will vests in 16 equal quarterly increments starting from February 1, 2022.
Parag Agrawal's wife Vineeta Agrawal is a physician and an adjunct clinical professor at Stanford School of Medicine. She's also a General Partner at Andresen Horowitz (a16z) where she leads investments for the venture capital firm's bio fund. Vineeta holds a BS in biophysics from Stanford University and MD and PhD degrees from Harvard Medical School/MIT.
