- 2023 - The 2023 International Price in Statistics, known as the 'Nobel Prize of Statistics', has been awarded to CR Rao, a mathematician who is 102 years old. In 1945, Rao published a paper in the Bulletin of the Calcutta Mathematical Society, which showcased three fundamental outcomes: the 'Cramer-Rao lower bound', the 'Rao-Blackwell Theorem', and the third one that formed the basis for 'information geometry', a new interdisciplinary field.
