- 2022 - PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate the first phase of the 701km long Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway on December 11. This expressway will integrate 14 districts and connect ports.
- 2022 - Sixth Vande Bharath Express between Nagpur (Maharashtra) and Bilaspur(Chhattisgarh) will be flagged off on 11th December 2022.
- 2022 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate three National Ayush Institutes on December 11. - 1980 - Jamshad Cethirakath, known by his stage name Arya, is an Indian film actor and producer, who mainly appears in Tamil films besides appearing in a number of Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada productions. He made his breakthrough in portraying rogue characters in Vishnuvardhan's Arinthum Ariyamalum and Pattiyal.

- 1922 - Dilip Kumar (Born Muhammad Yusuf Khan) is the first Bollywood Superstar. Popularly known as The Tragedy King. Dilip Kumar is widely regarded as one of the greatest method actors of World cinema. Kumar was one of the biggest film stars of Indian cinema. Dilip Kumar debuted as an actor in the film Jwar Bhata (1944), produced by Bombay Talkies. In a career spanning over five decades, Kumar worked in over 65 films. Kumar is known for roles in films such as the romantic Andaz (1949), the heartwarming Babul (1950), the impassioned Deedar (1951), the swashbuckling Aan (1952), the social drama Daag (1952), the dramatic Devdas (1955), the comical Azaad (1955), Naya Daur (1957), Yahudi (1958), Madhumati (1958), Kohinoor (1960), the epic historical Mughal-e-Azam (1960), the social dacoit crime drama Gunga Jamuna (1961), and the comedy Ram Aur Shyam (1967). In 1976, Kumar took a five-year break from film performances and returned with a character role in the film Kranti (1981). He has won nine Filmfare Awards and is the first recipient of the Filmfare Best Actor Award (1954). Critics have acclaimed him as one of the greatest actors in the history of Indian cinema. Dilip Kumar had a long relationship with actress Madhubala but never married her. He married actress Saira Bano in 1966. Dilip Kumar was honoured by the World Book of records for his contributions to Hindi Cinema and social causes.
- 1882 - Chinnaswami Subramania Bharathi, also known as Bharathiyar, was a Tamil writer, poet, journalist, Indian independence activist, social reformer and polyglot. Popularly known as "Mahakavi Bharathi", he was a pioneer of modern Tamil poetry and is considered one of the greatest Tamil literary figures of all time. He once said, "If even one single man suffers from starvation, we will destroy the entire world."
