- 2022 - ISRO successfully tests the cryogenic engine with higher thrust, which will boost the lift capacity of the LVM3 rocket that will power India's most powerful rocket.

- 1967 - Ashutosh Rana is the professional name of Ashutosh RamNarayan Neekhra. Ashutosh Rana is an Indian actor, producer, poet, author and television personality. He has mostly worked in Marathi and Hindi films but has also acted in Telugu, Kannada and Tamil films. He has also worked in Indian television shows. He has also won two Filmfare Awards for the Hindi film Dushman released in 1998 and Sangharsh released in 1999.
- 1848 - Surendranath Banerjee was one of the founding members of the Indian National Congress and served as the president of the Indian National Congress twice. He is popularly known as Rashtraguru, he was an Indian nationalist leader during British Rule. He founded a nationalist organization called the Indian National Association and later cofounded Indian National Congress.
