2022
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the newly constructed AIIMS in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh on October 5 2022. The construction of Bilaspur AIIMS costs around 1470 Crore.
- A Hindutva mob broke into a heritage madrasa in Bidar, Karnataka on October 5, 2022. These Hindutva goons started shouting slogans and performed puja inside the Madrasa premise. After a complaint, police arrested four of the nine people involved. Built in the 1460s, the Mahmud Gawan Madrasa in Bidar is a designated heritage site under the Archeological Survey of India. The structure is also listed among monuments of national importance.
2019
- 2019 - Rohit Sharma became the first Indian Opener Batsman to hit a double century in 41 years after Sunil Gavaskar in 1978. Rohit smashed this double century in the 2nd Innings of the 1st Test Match against South Africa, Rohit had scored 176 runs in the first innings and then a double century as opener Batsman in the second inning.
- 2019 - The first-ever NBA game played in India at NSCI stadium in Mumbai's Worli. Nita Ambani, the chairperson of Reliance Foundation, presented the ceremonial "match ball" to NBA officials, ahead of the game between Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings.
- 1930 - British airship R101 crashes in France en route to India on its maiden voyage.
