- 2022 - The 369-foot-tall Shiva statue 'Viswas Swaroopam' installed in Nathdwara town of Rajasthan will be inaugurated on 29th October 2022. Claimed to be the world's tallest Shiva statue, it's situated 45 km from Udaipur and has been constructed by Tat Padam Sansthan. It has been constructed to last 250 years and can withstand wind speeds of up to 250kmph.
- 2019 - Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced free travel for women in Delhi Transport Corporation buses (DTC buses) and cluster buses from today that is starting from 29th October 2019.
- 2019 - Justice SA Bobde (Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde) appointed as Chief justice of India will take oath on 18th November 2019, after current CJI Ranjan Gogoi's term ends on 17th November.
- 2005 - Bombings in Delhi, India. More than 60 civilians were killed due to a series of bomb blasts.
- 1999 - A super cyclone that made landfall near Paradip devastates Odisha, India. The estimated maximum speed of the cyclone was around 260-270kmph at the core area. The storm created due to the cyclone created a huge surge in sea level by up to 20 metres. As per official data, at least 10,000 people were killed due to this cyclone.
