- 2022 - Using the GSLV Mk-III rocket (renamed LVM3 by ISRO for the mission), the space agency ISRO successfully placed into space, multiple satellites(36) weighing about six tonnes in all. The 43.5-m-tall rocket, carrying 36 satellites belonging to the UK-based communication company, OneWeb, took off from the second launch pad of the spaceport at Sriharikota near Chennai at seven minutes past midnight on Sunday. The satellites were released in the low earth orbit in batches of four each.

- 1979 - Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju Uppalapati, lovingly known as Prabhas, is an Indian actor who works in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil films. Prabhas made his screen debut with the 2002 Telugu action drama film Eeswar. He has garnered the state 'Nandi Award' for Best Actor, for his role in Mirchi. Got popular for his tremendously successful sequence Bahubali.

- 1929 - Shamsur Rahman was a Bangladeshi poet, columnist and journalist. A prolific writer, Rahman produced more than sixty books of a poetry collection and is considered a key figure in Bengali literature from the latter half of the 20th century. He was regarded as the unofficial poet laureate of Bangladesh.
