  • 2022 - Shri R. Venkataramani appointed as Attorney General for India w.e.f. 1st October 2022 by President Shrimati Draupadi Murmu. Mr Venkataramani was registered as a lawyer with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu in 1977. In 1979, he moved to the Supreme Court. In 1997, the Supreme Court designated him as a Senior Advocate. Mr Venkataramani also served as a member of the Law Commission of India in 2010 and 2013.
  • Madhya Pradesh's Indore has been ranked as the cleanest city in India by the Centre's Swachh Survekshan survey (released on 1st October 2022), for the sixth consecutive time. Surat in Gujarat and Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra ranked the 2nd and 3rd spots in the latest ranking. Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh have been ranked 4th & 5th respectively.

  • 2022 - Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was an Indian politician of the Communist Party of India or CPI. He was the secretary of the CPI Kerala State Committee of from 2015 to 2022. He stepped down from the position of state secretary due to failing health. He was the Chief Editor of the Malayalam Newspaper Deshabhimani. He passed away in a Chennai Hospital on 1st October 2022.
  • 2022 - Tulsi Tanti, 64, was the Founder chairman and managing director of Suzlon Energy and renowned expert on renewable energy. Tulsi Tanti died due to cardiac arrest on the evening of October 1. Tanti had spearheaded the wind revolution in India with the founding of Suzlon Energy in 1995.
