- 1990 - Anirudh Ravichander is an Indian film composer and singer, who primarily works in Tamil cinema. He has also worked in Telugu and Hindi. At 21, he made his debut in the Tamil industry.
- 1982 – Prithviraj Sukumaran, is an Indian film actor, director, producer, and playback singer, known for his works primarily in Malayalam Cinema. Prithviraj starred in Classmates(2006), which became the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever. He won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his performances in Vaasthavam, becoming the youngest recipient of the award at the age of 24. Prithviraj made his directorial debut in 2019 with Lucifer which became the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever.
- 1949 – Mohan Rangachari, known professionally as Crazy Mohan, was an Indian actor, comedian, screenwriter and playwright. An engineer by profession, Mohan started writing plays and established his own drama troupe called "Crazy Creations" in 1979.
- 1946 - Naveen Patnaik is an Indian politician who is the current and 14th Chief Minister of Odisha. He is also the president of the Biju Janata Dal, and a writer who has authored three books. As of 2019, he is one of the longest-serving chief ministers of any Indian state, holding the post for almost two decades, and only the third Indian chief Minister after Pawan Chamling and Jyoti Basu to win five consecutive terms as Chief Minister of Indian state. The books authored by him are "A Second Paradise: Indian Courtly Life 1590–1947", "A Desert Kingdom: The People of Bikaner", and "The Garden of Life: An Introduction to the Healing Plants of India".
