Lata Mangeshkar is popularly known as "Nightingale of India", "Melody Queen", "सुर सम्रागी", born on 28th September 1929, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. She worked as a child actor, before recording her first song for a Marathi film "Kiti Hasaal" in 1942. Lata Mangeshkar is a playback singer, Music Director, Producer in Indian Cinema. Mangeshkar has sung in 1000+ films in 36 different languages.
In 1974, Guinness Book of World records listed her as the most recorded artist in history.
She was awarded Dada Saheb Phalke award 1989 and Bharat Ratna in 2001.
She also has been awarded Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, 3 National awards and 7 Filmfare awards. France conferred her it's highest civilian award 'Legion of Honor' in the year 2007.
