2022 - Bharat Jodo Yatra (pad yatra) or "Unite India March" began on September 7. It is the first-ever national-level foot march that was officially launched by Rahul Gandhi, keeping an eye on the 2024 General Elections. The 3,570 km long Bharat Jodo Yatra will end by 4th February 2023 that's around 150 days in total.

For her efforts in empowering women through entrepreneurship, she received the Gandhi Peace Prize in 2011. She also won the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership in 1977. Elaben passed away on 2nd November following a brief illness at an Ahmedabad hospital in Gujarat. She was 89 years old.
